Athens Christmas Lights Terms and Conditions

This contract is a binding agreement between Athens Christmas Lights and the client.

The client agrees to hire Athens Christmas Lights to install their lighting display to the agreed upon specifications.

Installation: Athens Christmas Lights takes extra precautions to ensure that we don’t damage your property. We only use plastic lighting clips and will not use any nails or staples to attach your lighting display without our client’s approval. Preferred installation dates are not guaranteed.

Waterproofing: Athens Christmas Lights will ensure that outlets, sockets, and extension cords are properly waterproofed.

Display Rights: We reserve the right to use images from lighting displays for promotional, display, advertising, internet, and publication purposes. Specific images will be discussed prior to display upon request.

Payment: We accept cash, checks, most major credit cards (3.95% fee is required), and ACH checks (Free).

Removal: Removals begin on or around January 1st (weather permitting) of each year and continue until the end of January (31st). All removals are weather dependent and may take longer to remove if necessary for the safety of our installers.

Ownership/Storage: All materials provided by Athens Christmas Lights are owned solely by Athens Christmas Lights. Athens Christmas Lights will store all products used in a container to prevent damage and mold. They will be stored by Athens Christmas Lights and no containers should be stored at a customers property unless discussed prior. If problems arise during the storage period it is Athens Christmas Lights responsibility and not the customers.

Multiple Year Agreements: Multiple year agreements are designed to help save our clients money. It’s really simple: The longer you stay a client, the longer we will rate lock the price. If you choose a term that is longer than a single year, we will offer that price for the first year and the remaining years in your agreement. Multiple year agreement prices are only available when the client signs the agreement. Terms will not be backdated to previous years. If Customer cancels before the agreement ends, customer will pay an early termination fee of 25% of the next year’s cost, as presented in this proposal, due upon cancellation. We would never expect you to pay any more than that.

Non-refundable initial deposit: The client agrees to pay a 50% Non-Refundable initial payment. This payment is used to reserve the customer’s date and to purchase any materials required for the client’s display. The remainder balance will be due at installation. This payment will be considered liquidated damages should the client decide to cancel the contract or breach the contract in any way.

GFCI Outlets: These are circuits that can trip because of moisture in outlets. In most cases, these can be reset. We are not responsible for a client’s GFCI outlet tripping. We use specialized installation techniques to ensure that this doesn’t become a common problem.

Display Maintenance: If any lights stop working, minor maintenance is free of charge. Simply contact your representative and we will schedule a service call ASAP. However, restrictions do apply: Athens Christmas Lights will only repair lights and decorations that were provided by, and installed by, Athens Christmas Lights. No items installed or provided by the client will be the responsibility of Athens Christmas Lights. Athens Christmas Lights will continue to service displays free of charge for as long as the lights remain on the property.

Safety: We reserve the right to refuse to use any product or do any project that is deemed unsafe.

Damages: Athens Christmas Lights is not responsible for any damages to property, landscaping, or trees/shrubs. Athens Christmas Lights strives to provide safe and damage-free displays.

Color Changing Options: Customers can change their colors on the roofline any year they choose free of charge as long as a color change request has been sent via email or text 60 days before installation. After that, Athens Christmas Lights may require a bulb swapping fee depending on the current stock of different colors of lights.

NON-Payments: The remainder balance for your display is due upon the completion of the installation, prior to our team’s departure from your property. In instances where this final payment cannot be completed at that time, we will address the situation on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the circumstances, the Christmas lights and display may not be powered on or left in an operational state until payment is resolved. Clients should promptly call us at 706-308-4990 to discuss payment and reschedule for full activation on the next available date.
